Contest Details:

  • Submission Deadline: Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:59PM Pacific Time.
  • Winner Announcement: In a blog post announcement on the CNCF.io website in June 2024.
  • Prize: Global recognition and a free full-access conference pass to attend an upcoming KubeCon + CloudNativeCon within 1 calendar year of the Winner Announcement.

How to Participate:

  • Create a logo* that symbolizes the 10 years of Kubernetes' journey. It can be a fresh interpretation of the existing logo or an entirely new concept. While the use of generative AI is allowed, please be sure to comply with all license terms for any AI tools that you use.
  • Provide a short overall rationale and/or descriptor and reason why you think this logo will work.
  • Submissions can be made in various formats including JPEG, PNG, AI, and SVG. While all formats are accepted, it's recommended to use files with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. For optimal printing quality, SVG files are preferred whenever possible.
  • Submit below!

Guidelines:

  • Submissions should be original and unpublished works.
  • Designs must be scalable and suitable for various use cases, including online and print materials.
  • Multiple entries are welcome! However, to ensure fairness and diversity, each individual is limited to a maximum of three entries.

K8s 10th Anniversary Terms and Conditions:

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully.   Any person submitting a logo design, image, drawing, picture, photograph (“Logo Design”) to The Linux Foundation for the Logo Design contest (the “Contest”), agrees to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. 

  1. To be eligible, any Logo Design must be submitted to The Linux Foundation via the submission form at [INSERT URL] between 12:00AM Pacific Time on  Friday, March 22 and 11:59PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, April 30.  The Linux Foundation may, at its sole discretion, extend the duration of the Contest at any time without prior notice.  Participants’ participation in the Contest during any extended period shall be governed by these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Contest is open to any person over the age of 18 in any country, except where prohibited by law.
  3. By submitting a Logo Design to The Linux Foundation, you agree that the Logo Design shall become the property of The Linux Foundation, and you hereby assign all right, title and interest in and to the Logo Design, including, but not limited to, all copyrights, trademarks, design patents and any other intellectual property in the Logo Design to The Linux Foundation.  You warrant and represent that your work is original (excluding use of the existing Kubernetes logo, which is permitted) and that you own all necessary rights to assign your Logo Design to The Linux Foundation.
  4. The Linux Foundation may use any Contest participant’s Logo Design, in whole or in part, including any modifications or amendments thereto.  However, submission of a Logo Design in the Contest does not obligate The Linux Foundation to use any Logo Design.
  5. By submitting a Logo Design, you consent to The Linux Foundation’s use of your name, image, voice and likeness (the “Released Subject Matter”) for the purpose of publicity, advertising, marketing or promotion without any compensation or notice. You acknowledge that any personal information embodied in the Released Subject Matter may be processed, distributed and publicly shared consistent with these Terms and Conditions, and that you intend for the Released Subject Matter to be publicly available indefinitely to the extent permitted under applicable law. The Linux Foundation processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which is available at https://www.linuxfoundation.org/privacy/.
  6. The decision of The Linux Foundation regarding any winner of the Contest is final, including, but not limited to, any decision that no winner will be chosen.
  7. There is no cash alternative to the pPrizes, and The Linux Foundation shall have the right to substitute the prizes being offered with one of equal or greater value.
  8. The Linux Foundation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify entries that do not meet these Terms and Conditions.  The decision of The Linux Foundation regarding any disqualifications is final.
  9. The Linux Foundation may, in its sole discretion, modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest or these Terms and Conditions prior to the cessation of the Contest for any reason and without prior notice, including for technical reasons such as computer viruses, bugs, tampering or technical failures.  Contest participants shall be bound by such modifications, cancellations, terminations or suspensions.
  10. All participants in the Contest agree to release and hold the Linux Foundation free and harmless of any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, actions, costs and expenses of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation to personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.  IN NO EVENT WILL THE LINUX FOUNDATION BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL OR ENTITY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RELATED TO THE CONTEST, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST SALES, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF PROGRAMS OR OTHER DATA ON YOUR INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF THE LINUX FOUNDATION IS EXPRESSLY ADVISED OR AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES OR LOSSES.
  11. By participating in the Contest, you fully and unconditionally agree to be bound by these Contest Terms and Conditions, which are governed by the laws of the State of California.  The Linux Foundation and all Contest participants irrevocably agree that the courts of the State of California shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Contest and submit all such disputes to the jurisdiction of the courts of the State of California.
