SAN FRANCISCO, May 8, 2013 – The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, today announced the keynote speakers for LinuxCon and CloudOpen North America, taking place September 16-18, 2013 at the Hyatt New Orleans in New Orleans, La.
LinuxCon, which has sold out every year since its debut, is the world’s leading conference addressing all matters Linux for the global business and technical communities. CloudOpen, which debuted just last year, features technical content that addresses open cloud platforms, tools and big data strategies. It will cover technical content such as Chef, Gluster, Hadoop, KVM, Linux, OpenStack, oVirt, Puppet, the Xen Project and more.
LinuxCon and CloudOpen North America will be co-located with a variety of technical events to increase opportunities for learning and networking. For example, and new this year, is the UEFI Plugfest hosted by The Linux Foundation and UEFI Forum. Developers will come together to collaborate on this standard for the benefit of Linux users. Linux Plumbers Conference is also co-located with the event again this year so people can attend both events in one location and benefit from important developers being in one place. Also co-located at the events are the Gluster Workshop, Linux Security Summit, Linux Wireless Summit and the Xen Project User Summit.
This year’s keynote speakers together provide a holistic vision for the future of software development that prioritizes collaboration and Linux and open source software to accelerate and advance technologies.
Confirmed keynote speakers and topics include:
- Jonathan Bryce, executive director of OpenStack Foundation, will talk about “Developers: The New Superpower.”
- Martin Fink, CTO and director of HP Labs, will reflect on his long career in open source software and where the industry is headed today.
