Premier European open source conferences and co-located events showcase growth of Linux and open source principles across technology disciplines

SAN FRANCISCO, August 15, 2014 – The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux and collaborative development, today announced the schedule and program for LinuxCon + CloudOpen + Embedded Linux Conference Europe, taking place October 13-15, 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The speakers and sessions planned for this year’s events showcase how leaders in diverse industries are using the power of open source and collaboration to innovate and advance technology for all. The open source principles espoused by Linux and other projects have grown and expanded to now be used in many other areas including healthcare, manufacturing, data science and more.

“Linux today is the foundation for the technologies that run our lives. It has blazed a trail for other collaborative, open source projects that together make up the global technology infrastructure,” said Jim Zemlin, executive director at The Linux Foundation. “The Linux Foundation brings together the world’s top Linux and open source developers, sysadmins and experts in one place to advance the state-of-the-art in Linux and open source technology and collaboration. This work is defining the future of the way technologies are built and consumed.”
