According to IT recruiting job site Dice.com, demand for Linux-based software development skills continues to outpace other areas of IT recruitment. The Linux Foundation is helping to meet this demand by providing Linux training opportunities that increase job seekers’ portfolio of skills and depth of knowledge related to Linux. The new Linux Training Scholarship Program is expected to increase the reach of these training opportunities to address the growing demand for Linux-related skills while investing in today’s most promising Linux talent.
“The demand for Linux-related IT talent clearly demonstrates the increasing adoption of Linux in the enterprise, on the mobile and across the Web. Helping to increase developers’ knowledge of the most cutting-edge Linux skills to support this trend is a natural role for us to play,” said Amanda McPherson, vice president of marketing and developer programs at The Linux Foundation. “We’re investing in the future of Linux with our new Scholarship Program and are happy to extend our unique Linux training opportunities to developers who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of them.”
The Linux Foundation’s Training Program offers classes for developers and systems administrators and can be taken in multiple locations around the world, online, or through custom training workshops specially designed for companies. This technically advanced, cost-effective and vendor-neutral training experience is built in collaboration with the Linux Foundation’s Technical Advisory Board (TAB), which comprises leading maintainers from the Linux community.
