OPSO Initiatives Survey - We Need Your Input!

We invite you to take part in the 7th annual Open Source Program Office (OSPO) Survey by the TODO Group and Linux Foundation Research. In partnership with Cisco, NGINX, InnerSource Commons, Open Source Initiative, and CHAOSS, this survey measures the prevalence and impact of open source programs and initiatives worldwide. It will take just 15 minutes of your time and will provide valuable insights that can enhance OSPO practices and support strategic initiatives across various industry sectors.

Your expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of OSPO initiatives, fostering better collaboration and innovation within the open source community. As a thank you for participating, you'll receive a 30% discount code for any Linux Foundation training course or certification exam. Plus, your participation will help fund the Linux Foundation’s Travel Fund, which supports open source developers and community members in attending events they might otherwise miss due to financial constraints.

This survey is all about your organization's open source usage and policies. It looks into how often your organization contributes code upstream, uses open source code for different purposes, recruits and trains developers, and participates in open source events. We also want to know how frequently your organization follows formal policies on open source usage and contributions, and your policy on contributing to upstream projects.

You'll be asked about the number of open source projects your organization maintains and how many developers are involved. The survey also explores whether your organization has an Open Source Program Office (OSPO) or a similar initiative, its best practices and strategies, how you collaborate with open source organizations, and its top responsibilities and the challenges it faces. For organizations without an OSPO, the survey asks about your plans for implementing one, the benefits you expect, and the challenges you anticipate.

Your input is crucial. Join us in advancing open source programs worldwide. Thank you for your participation!
