Pathways to Open Data: Findings from the 2024 World Open Innovation Conference Challenge Session

Download Report
In November 2024, Linux Foundation Research attended the World Open Innovation Conference where we held a session on the pathways to building open data infrastructure. The session discussion was recorded and analyzed to produce an in-depth analysis of the unique challenges of open data and the opportunities that exist for greater openness and accessibility.

The report discusses observations from the session’s audience on their uses of and challenges with incorporating open data into their work, their concerns with opening up their own data, and how they believe we can address these obstacles. The report also reviews the history and culture of open data and provides some case studies and examples of open data projects. Read the report to learn more about data's unique challenges and next steps to build a more open data landscape.
